Community commitment

Many firms pay lip-service to their commitment to charitable and community enterprises. Here at Milner Boardman our commitment is more than skin deep.  We believe that actions speak louder than words and our social responsibilities are an intrinsic part of our ethos as a firm.

Tony Collier and the rest of the team are passionate fund-raisers.  In recent years we have raised many thousands of pounds for local children's hospices and the Children's Adventure Farm Trust.  In the main we have done this by undertaking such arduous challenges as walking the 3 highest UK peaks in under 24 hours and much easier events such as sponsored dress down days.  Tony has also raised funds by pushing himself to his physical limits with runs such as Race the Train as well as running a number of marathons since he completed his first full marathon at the age of 50, 5 years ago.

After two highly successful Quiz Nights as well as other similar events over recent years, Milner Boardman have raised thousands of pounds for our nominated charity and will continue to think of exciting and challenging ways to do so in future years. In 2011 alone we donated over £5,000 to The Childrens Adventure Farm from our fund raising efforts.

In Nancy's spare time she volunteers for just one of many organisation helping to care for the people living on the streets, and invites everyone to look up the organisations near them and offer time if not money to help this growing problem.

Malcolm is involved in fund raising for the Christadelphian Meal A Day Fund which supports sustainable social development projects at grass roots level in some of the world's poorest countries.  Meal A Day is also the sole supporter of a number of orphanages and special schools for the disabled in Africa.

Malcolm also assists in raising funds for his daughters school, St Matthews in Stretford which has helped provide an outdoor shelter for the children and enabled the Parent Teachers Association to subsidise school activities such as educational trips for the children.

In addition Tony voluntarily works with local business support organisations such as the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce.  This approach translates internally within the business with an extremely strong commitment to training and development throughout the practice.
